Netflix Unveils 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Trailer: Aang in Avatar State, Sneak Peek at King Bumi, Shirtless Ozai, and More!

Netflix has unveiled the full trailer for its highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of Nickelodeon's beloved animated series, "Avatar: The Last Airbender." The show's first season, consisting of eight hour-long episodes, is set to premiere on Netflix on February 22. The initial trailer for the series was released back in November, creating excitement among fans.

In this adaptation, Gordon Cormier takes on the role of Aang, the Avatar who must master the four elements—water, earth, fire, and air—to restore balance to a world threatened by the Fire Nation.

According to the official logline, Aang embarks on an extraordinary and action-packed quest to save the world alongside his newfound friends, siblings Sokka and Katara, who are members of the Southern Water Tribe. Their journey is filled with fantastical challenges as they confront the formidable Fire Lord Ozai and his relentless pursuit. However, they face an additional obstacle in the form of the determined Crown Prince Zuko, who seeks to capture them.

The cast includes Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. Notably, Daniel Dae Kim portrays Fire Lord Ozai, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee takes on the role of General Iroh, and Casey Camp-Horinek plays Gran Gran. Other cast members include Arden Cho as June, Maria Zhang as Suki, Sebastien Amoruso as Jet, Utkarsh Ambudkar as King Bumi, and Danny Pudi as The Mechanist.

The new trailer offers an exciting glimpse into the bending abilities and the intense conflicts with the Fire Nation. It also introduces various characters for the first time, such as King Bumi, June, and Jet.

Albert Kim serves as the showrunner and executive producer, while Michael Goi and Jabbar Raisani direct and executive produce alongside Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore from Rideback. Roseanne Liu is a co-executive producer, and Jet Wilkinson also serves as a director.

It's worth noting that the creators of the original Nickelodeon series, Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino, were initially involved with the Netflix adaptation but stepped away due to creative differences. Instead, they established Avatar Studios at Paramount, where they are working on a feature-length animated film based on "The Last Airbender."

Fans of the beloved animated series are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the live-action adaptation on Netflix, hoping to experience the captivating world of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" once again in a new and thrilling format.
